Samen means together. That's the whole idea.

Invite a partner, friend, or family member and they'll see exactly what you're working on — so they can actually help in the moment, not just watch a progress bar. Works solo too, if there's no one to invite yet.

How it works

01

Invite someone who's already in your life

A partner, a friend, your in-laws — anyone who already speaks Dutch or is learning it with you. It's free for them, always. No one to invite right now? Samen works fully on your own.

02

Learn what actually comes up

Not verb tables for their own sake — units built around the real moments of settling into life here: meeting people, sorting out the practical stuff, finding your feet. Grammar's in there too, just not in charge.

03

They get a way to actually help

When something trips you up, your partner doesn't just see a score — they get a plain-language tip on how to help with exactly that, in the next real conversation you have. Correction's always optional, never a pop quiz.

Built for a pair, not a solo grind. Most apps show progress to an audience of one. Samen hands your partner something to actually do with it.

Curriculum named for real milestones, not grades. Landing, Settling In, Feeling at Home — because "A1" doesn't tell you anything about your actual life here.

No shame mechanics. A missed day is a missed day, not a broken streak lecture. Nudges stay gentle and are easy to turn down.

14 days, full access, nothing charged until day 14. One straightforward trial, not a countdown designed to trip you up.

Simple pricing, no surprise tiers

€6.99/month, or €49.99/year if you'd rather not think about it monthly. One plan, everything included — no feature-gated tiers to puzzle over. Your partner's account is always free, whether they're your biggest supporter or just along for the ride.

14 days full access, card required to start, nothing charged until day 14.

Questions

Do I need a partner to use this?

No — Samen works fully standalone. A partner's a big part of how it's designed to work best, but never a requirement.

What if my partner doesn't speak much Dutch?

That's exactly who the "learning together" mode is for — you can both be learning it, not just one of you teaching the other.

Is it actually free for my partner?

Yes, always — no trial, no catch, no eventual upsell.

What if I'm not moving to the Netherlands?

The curriculum's built around real integration, but the language and the partner mechanic work just as well if you're learning for family, a relationship, or just because.

When do I get charged?

Not until day 14 of your trial — card's required to start, but nothing moves until then.
